Vivien has extensive and in-depth experience as a corporate and commercial lawyer specialising in the financial services sector, funds and wealth management. Driven by her belief in responsible capital and sustainable finance, and further to her wealth of experience in corporate, asset management and the investment industry, Vivien has strengthened ESG and impact focus in her practice since 2018, following global developments of the Paris Agreement and increasing adoption of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Vivien carries diverse legal practice experience with top tier and magic circle firms in the areas of tax, trusts, banking and financial services, investment funds, securities regulatory and corporate commercial matters. Based in Greater China including Hong Kong and Shanghai in the past decade, Vivien has focused on investment funds, asset management, and the securities and financial services markets and regulatory framework in this region, with in-depth knowledge especially on the legal and regulatory issues relevant to investment funds and managers establishing or operating in Hong Kong or China and on investments in China and Hong Kong.
Vivien has also accumulated extensive knowledge and experience on the fast-evolving legal landscape and regulatory requirements related to ESG issues and green finance, and on impact, is increasingly advising or working with charities, private or corporate foundations, social enterprises and impact investors. She has engaged in reviewing and responding to consultations on ESG and green finance, including on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange consultations on ESG and sustainability reporting requirements for listed companies, consultations of the Securities & Futures Commission on enhanced requirements on asset managers and investment funds on climate-related risks and on green and ESG products, and also consultations of key industry bodies such as the Principles of Responsible Investment (PRI) and CFA Institute, with respect to soft law and hard law relating to sustainable finance, and other thought-leadership initiatives in ESG. Vivien is active in engagement with industry bodies, contributing to capacity building and development of standards in the sustainable finance markets, including through the Hong Kong Green Finance Association, the International Capital Markets Association on sustainable bonds and as a member of the Green & Sustainable Lending Committee of the Asia Pacific Loans Market Association.
Vivien has established Vivien Teu Law Practice with purpose, to dedicate further efforts towards sustainability and the impact economy in Asia. Vivien is most recently a partner and Head of Asset Management & ESG at Dentons Hong Kong LLP and a key member of the Dentons Global ESG Steering Group as Global Sustainable Finance Lead. Besides drawing on her international experiences and knowledge, Vivien brings unique insights and practical commercial approaches in her practice, as well as her earlier experience of having built a successful award-winning law firm, Vivien Teu & Co LLP from the ground up into before joining Dentons.
Prior to establishing Vivien Teu & Co LLP, Vivien was senior in-house counsel at a well-known global investment management firm, with responsibilities over the legal and regulatory affairs of the firm’s investment management businesses in the Greater China region, including across business lines of retail securities investment funds, mandatory provident fund schemes, China securities investment fund joint ventures, private equity funds and real estate investment funds, as well as the firm’s institutional investment management and advisory businesses.

Before his Sinyi professorship at the Cambridge Judge Business School, Prof. Chris Marquis was the Samuel C. Johnson Professor in Sustainable Global Enterprise and Professor of Management and Organizations at the Johnson College of Business at Cornell University for six years. Prior to Cornell, he taught for 10 years at Harvard Business School and had held visiting positions at the Harvard Kennedy School, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Fudan University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong. He was Vice President and Technology Manager at JP Morgan Chase prior to his academic career.
Prof. Marquis is the author of more than 20 peer-reviewed academic articles and more than 50 Harvard business cases on topics related to social innovation, sustainable business and doing business in China. Under these themes, he has examined entrepreneurship, particularly the triple-bottom-line and building sustainable businesses globally, and business competition in emerging markets. These research projects build on Prof. Marquis' earlier research on how businesses can have positive impacts on society and how historical and geographical processes have shaped firms' and entrepreneurs’ social and environmental strategies and activities. His most recent book entitled "Better Business: How the B Corp Movement Is Remaking Capitalism" is the winner of the 2021 Axiom Gold Medal, under the Business Ethics category because of its deep focus on the potential for stakeholder governance models to reform capitalism.
Kishore Ravuri is a distinguished sustainability and ESG strategist with over 22 years of leadership across Malaysia and Asia, renowned for his ability to translate complex global standards into locally impactful business strategies. As the founder of IMPACTO—Malaysia’s first certified B-Corp sustainability advisory—Kishore pioneered mainstream ESG awareness, calling on corporations to transition from tactical compliance to long-term strategic value. His entrepreneurial spirit is exemplified by his co-founding of the CEO Action Network (CAN), a differentiated coalition of leaders for sustainability, where he established the governance framework as well as supported development of CEO engagement approaches and programmes.
Currently serving as a Board Member of the ESG Business Institute (ESGBI), Kishore is uniquely positioned to advance the Institute’s mission of cultivating a vibrant, knowledge-sharing community of ESG professionals (and businesses). As a CEO and Board Member, he will leverage his deep expertise in industry engagement, capability-building and emerging standards to scale the Institute's reach, ensuring its resources remain at the forefront of the global sustainability dialogue. Prof. Lawrence Loh is the Director of the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School where he is a Professor in Practice for Strategy and Policy.
Prof. Loh received a PhD in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His thesis on technology governance was awarded global first prize in the worldwide doctoral competition in the field of management information systems. At MIT, he also completed the doctoral qualifying examinations in finance and pursued related courses such as corporate finance, financial economics, econometrics, and micro- and macro-economics.
At CGS, Prof. Loh leads key sustainability initiatives for Asia-Pacific, ASEAN and Singapore. He steers the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index and ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. Prof. Loh also heads studies on business integrity and leadership diversity.
In the specific domain of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) relevant to sustainable investments, Prof. Loh has extensive professional engagements in the global and regional arenas. In collaboration with WWF, he was a lead investigator on a study in sustainable banking for all listed banks in ASEAN. Prof Loh directed the initiative that is commissioned by the Singapore Exchange to conduct sustainability assessments of all listed companies on the Exchange. He also headed the ASEAN sustainability reporting initiative covering six countries and steered the Asia-Pacific sustainability reporting assessment covering 13 jurisdictions. He currently spearheads a study on climate reporting in ASEAN companies with GRI.
Prof. Loh has delivered numerous executive development programs in sustainability and ESG for many leading clients and institutions across Asia, ASEAN and Singapore, including financial institutions and financial training entities. Prof. Loh is also a regular speaker at professional events in sustainable finance, including ESG, green and impact investments.
As lead consultant for information technology manpower as well as research and development manpower studies commissioned by the Singapore government, he was the chief facilitator for Singapore’s National Technology Plan and served on the Think Tank for Science and Technology. Prof. Loh also works as a consultant for Fortune 500 companies and international organizations in technology and innovation policy.
Prof. Loh is a regular commentator on business and policy issues for leading global media such as the AFP, BBC, Bloomberg, China Central Television, China Daily, China Global Television Network, CNBC, CNN, Deal Street Asia, Eco-Business, Financial Times, Forbes, NetEase, Nikkei Asia, People’s Daily, South China Morning Post, Tech in Asia, The Washington Post, Xinhua, Yahoo Finance as well as Singapore media such as Berita Harian, CNA, Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore Business Review, The Business Times, The Edge Singapore, The New Paper, The Straits Times and TODAY. He has a citation and commentary count of about 600 per year across various media worldwide.
Prof. Loh is an awardee of the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award and the NUS Business School Teaching Excellence Award.
Thomas Ng is the founder and CEO of Genashtim, a cloud-based supplier of e-learning and digital support services, with MNCs and government institutional clients in more than 10 countries. He established Genashtim to leverage technology and the internet to connect marginalized communities to the global economy. Under his leadership, Genashtim rose into prominence in the ESG landscape, securing partnerships with raiSE Singapore Centre for Social Enterprises, ASEAN Responsible and Inclusive Business (ARAIBA) and B Lab Global.
Before founding Genashtim, Thomas worked for ABB and Rexam plc. throughout Europe, Asia, and Australia for 25 years as a senior international executive.
An active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) since 1999, Thomas was elected Southeast Asia Regional Chair for YPO Gold from 2010 to 2012, during which time his region was awarded Best in the World. He also founded YPO SEA Lestari in 2020, which is the first social impact chapter of YPO.
Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez (pronounced too-MEE-nez) was appointed the seventh president of Utah Valley University (UVU) in 2018. Born in a farming village in the Philippine province of Iloilo, she moved with her parents and siblings to the slums of Iloilo City when she was two years old, as her parents sought better educational opportunities for their children.
Her pursuit of education eventually took her to the United States where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in International Relations and Russian Literature from Brigham Young University (1986). She later earned a master's degree in Soviet Studies (1988) from Harvard University and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Political Science (1996).
Before UVU, President Tuminez was an executive at Microsoft, where she led corporate, external, and legal affairs in Southeast Asia. She also served as vice dean of research at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. She has worked in philanthropy and venture capital in New York City and is a permanent member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She is the author of “Russian Nationalism Since 1856: Ideology and the Making of Foreign Policy” and many other publications. She and her husband, Jeffrey S. Tolk, have three children. In her spare time, she enjoys running, dancing, and travelling.
Luanne is the Group Chief Sustainability Officer at CIMB, one of ASEAN’s leading banking groups, where she is responsible for transforming CIMB into a leader in responsible banking in Asia. She is also the Working Group Chair of the CEO Action Network Malaysia, and on the Steering Group of the UN-convened Net Zero Banking Alliance.
Luanne has extensive experience in sustainability, strategy and transformation, as well as change management, and has been involved in various fields, including financial services, consulting and startups. She has a Bachelors and Master’s in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge, and a Master of Liberal Arts in Sustainability from Harvard University Extension School. Luanne is the recipient of accolades such as EcoBusiness A-list, Top Sustainability Superwoman in Asia, and Top 10 Women in Sustainability in APAC.
